Leicester Tigers

Well… what a day!!! What a project!! What a dance!!!

As part of a wider project with Attenborough Arts Centre, Next Door Dance were asked to do a large scale performance at Leicester Tigers RFC as part of their launch for their inclusivity program. The day was a huge success and went down a storm! Here's a little snippet of how our day went…

Hayley and Laura welcomed the group at the ground nice and early and got them ready with warm ups and dress rehearsals. Props were all present and dancers ready to perform.

Emily and Georgie arrived to see their first performance in the lobby where they performed it a couple of times before the big event! Everyone in the Plaza area thoroughly enjoyed the performance and were eager to see it own a large scale in the stadium. One lady said she loved it so much she asked if she could borrow one of our beautifully made sunflowers for her son to hold during his parade around the pitch.

It was time, we waited patiently in the tunnel before moving out in front of 20,000 people! The stadium buzzing, the dancers were nervous and excited as all eyes were on them. Our performers danced beautifully and it was a hit! One audience member said 'it was enchanting’ another said ‘half time performance was brilliant, well done to all involved’. What an amazing collaboration, so glad we could be part of this day.
